A Reminder of Member Expectations

Member Expectations:

This is from the club bylaws:

  1. Will promote the club’s welfare by regular attendance and cheerful acceptance of its duties.
  2. Members will participate in the Cub’s activities. They should be willing to hold office, appear in programs and serve on committees, thus sharing the responsibilities of the club.

Here are some suggestions on how to fulfill the above:

We appreciate all of our members and hope to find an area for each where they can contribute. We recognize that not all members are able to participate in activities for a variety of reasons.

We will soon be looking for next year’s officers, please step forward and be a part of the board.

When you read in the newsletter or hear at a meeting that there is a committee being formed, please step forward and be a part of it. When there is a fundraiser or event mentioned please contact the person in charge and offer to help. No need to wait to be invited.

We want the club to benefit not only the community but each other as well. What are your interests? It takes 6 people to form a new section. In the past we have had garden section, genealogy, and are open to more ideas. Currently we have literature and busy hands. Consider attending a section to see if you might be interested.

The collect is also extremely important in our organization. Whenever we speak it needs to be with respect and consideration for others. We are more powerful together.

Our fundraisers are how we support our community projects.  We need everyone’s support with fundraisers to make a significant difference in our community. Please Think what you can do: attendance, donations, spreading the word and financial support are all important. If there are tickets to sell, please help sell them to people you know.

Thanks for all you do and your commitment to Women’s Club of Sweetwater County. Let’s make this the best year yet!
