Welcome to our new members Charitee Palmer and Suzanne James. Leslie Jo Gatti and Jennie Malonek, center, are membership chairs.
WCSC recently awarded our book grants for the Spring 2025 semester at WWCC. Congratulations to recipients, Amber Randall, Erin Zepeda and Presley Fink. Best of luck to all of you!
Club members recently contributed to the arts in Sweetwater County by helping with food service at the Actors’ Mission’s production of “Love Letters” by A.R. Gurney. Serving up chicken soup, rolls, and cookies, the club helped the theater in it’s mission to feed the body and nourish the mind for all those who came to enjoy the show. Members were given a tour of the Broadway on the last night, and had our pictures taken with the famous signature wall.
Every year, our Holiday House hostess chooses a charity which the club donates 10% of the raffle proceeds from the event to. This year’s hostess Kolbi McKenzie selected the Sweetest Foundation for suicide prevention. She was presented with a check for $241 to go toward this cause.
Women’s club donates $1500 for an adaptive playground swing to Stagecoach Elementary in Rock Springs with the help of a generous donation from Robert Ross of Edward Jones.
With Holiday House behind us, our members enjoyed a well-deserved break and some great food at our annual Christmas party. We’ll see you all next year!
Our Busy Hands section broke a club record in our perennial project of signing Christmas cards for troops overseas. Club members sent over 1,200 cards out this year, in the hopes of bringing joy and piece of home to our service men and women who far from it.
The Women’s Club of Sweetwater County extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended the 2024 Holiday House. All our love and gratitude to Kobli McKenzie, this year’s hostess who graciously allowed us the use of her home for this beloved and worthwhile annual event.
Club members today had a great time decorating trees for the Rock Springs Historical Museum. The decorations were made by club members years ago and were originally used to decorate trees at the Sweetwater County Library System. The club has since transitioned to using these decorations to beautify the museum during the holiday system.
