Comfort Bags

In September, the Busy Hands Section assembled comfort bags which will be given to the Green River Police Department. The bags are filled with items such as coloring books and crayons, play do, fidgets and a small stuffed animals. When the police are helping a child under stress, these bags can be given to the child to help them calm and the bag goes with the child.

September meetings

September 14th will be literature group at 333 Broadway in the upstairs meeting room starting at 1:00. Bring a book to discuss or just get ideas for something you might like to read. Books will be exchanged. September 21st is general meeting at white mountain library in the small meeting room. This is a potluck starting at 11:30. Bring your favorite dish and join us. Wyoming Awards at International Conference

Wyoming won awards in their category for Education and Libraries, Environment and Women’s History and Resource Center. Meadowlarks Club in Cheyenne received a Creativity Award. Both the Meadow Larks and Woman’s Club of Rock Springs were recognized for their Junior Special Programs Stick Your Neck Out Projects. Marcia Volner of the Woman’s Club of Rock Springs was the winner of the international award for short story. Congratulations Wyoming

Fundraising for “Buddy” The Green River Police Therapy Dog

Members of the club had a booth at farmer’s market in Green River for 3 weeks on Wednesdays. They had two dog raffle baskets with items donated from Zubecks, PetCo, T’s Barking Boutique and Horder’s Corner as well as individuals. they also had dog scarves and bows for dog’s collars to sell. Members also made dog biscuits that were a popular item. There were also club crafts to sell. This money will be used to donate to Buddy.
