Update-Busy Hands Section February 2018

Today’s Busy Hands was BUSY!!

Plenty of projects to work on today:Task Boxes for the Sweetwater County Child Developmental Center, many Crochet designs to choose from, Loom Knitting, & Needle Point. A donated laptop to the Club helped our left-handers with videos to watch explaining stitches. Several members attended today’s section to enjoy the friendliness in learning new crafts & to assist in make items for donation (also to delight in some homemade cookies and ice cream).

Shirley Black also shared her Pillows for Cancer Project in which she just donated 18 Pit Pillows to the Memorial Hospital. Made from fabrics that feature colorful patterns, these soft and puffy heart-shaped pillows are perfect for the post-lumpectomy, mastectomy and breast reconstruction patient. Just tuck one up under each arm after surgery to protect the sensitive areas from unnecessary jostling and pain. Once you can drive again, tuck your pit pillow under your left arm to take the pressure of the seat belt strap off your left side (or your right side, if you’re a passenger!)
If you’d like more information on these Pillows, please contact Shirley Black on this page or on our WCRS website @ http://www.gfwcrocksprings.org
