Check out the many ways our club members having been giving back to Sweetwater County this fall! The family visitation room at the Department of Family Services needed a facelift. Enter WCSC to paint the walls, paint a chalkboard section, provide new furniture and couch, some new toys and books, pictures on the wall and it has a whole new vibe. President Marcia Volner displays a few items from the wagon full of cleaning and hygiene items collected in support of the LDS hygiene drive.

The club has been busy giving and receiving donations to benefit others in recent weeks! Here’s a rundown of what’s been going on! Items donated to the club by Teri Lynch for a basket fundraiser. Basket donated to the prevention coalition, raffled off at the county fair. Club members helped raise money as part of the walk to end Alzheimer’s. More items donated by Teri Lynch. Some will go to good homes, some will be available at this year’s Holiday House!
The club donated a basket for the raffle at the Maggie Springs Run. This year’s event benefits two children with serious medical conditions that require extensive treatment.
“Ride for the Patch” is a fundraiser supporting the family of Alexander Harsha, who tragically died in a recent oilfield accident. The event will be July 19, at the Pour House, 1521 9th St. in Rock Springs. Registration begins at 9am, kick stands up at 10am. Club members put together this basket as part of the raffle to raise money for this local family.
Club members recently contributed to the arts in Sweetwater County by helping with food service at the Actors’ Mission’s production of “Love Letters” by A.R. Gurney. Serving up chicken soup, rolls, and cookies, the club helped the theater in it’s mission to feed the body and nourish the mind for all those who came to enjoy the show. Members were given a tour of the Broadway on the last night, and had our pictures taken with the famous signature wall.

Our club recently asked for a Mayoral Proclamation from Rock Springs Mayor Max Mickelson in support of Service Dog Month.
Actors’ Mission Inc., Sweetwater County’s premier community theater, will be hosting their annual Oktoberfest fundraiser in Bunning Park on Saturday, September 21st. While you’re there, take a moment to put in for this raffle basket we donated to help them raise money!
