A big thank you to everyone in our community who attended, donated to, or assisted with yesterday’s very successful garage sale fundraiser!
The GFWC of Wyoming, our state level organization, won multiple awards this year. Locally, we were presented with the prestigious Arizola Magnenat award from Wyoming Writers, Inc. This award commemorates individuals or organizations that have encouraged writers in Wyoming. The club was nominated for our “Authors and Artists” events in Laramie and Rock Springs, and for our annual literary contest. Internationally, the state club won awards in multiple categories:
Club members have been saving lids and caps for the White Mountain Library’s summer checkout art project! When kids checkout books over the summer, they receive a lid to add to the community project. Swing by the library and see their creativity for yourself! The club has already gathered about 400 lids so far.
Our club once again donated a basket to raise money for scholarships to the Wyoming Writers, Inc. annual conference! This year’s donation was a lovely wine basket!
Congratulations to club member Maggie Choate, whose design in White Mountain Library’s bookmark design contest for National Library Week won in the adult age category! Look how adorable it is!
Women’s Club of Sweetwater County proudly sponsored, the plaque for the suicide survivors bench in Bunning Park.

Club members today had a great time decorating trees for the Rock Springs Historical Museum. The decorations were made by club members years ago and were originally used to decorate trees at the Sweetwater County Library System. The club has since transitioned to using these decorations to beautify the museum during the holiday system.
