UPDATE: GFWC Wyoming State Convention

GFWC Wyoming State Convention was very enjoyable & full of useful knowledge from many talented and intelligent women of this club!

About some of the events:

  • The National GFWC had a contest this year to raise awareness in the area of conservation. Each club was challenged to make an outfit out of reusable shopping bags. The outfits are being judged at state conventions across the country as club women model their creations. The winners from each state will then model and be judged at the GFWC international convention coming up in June in St Louis. Best of luck to our very own Little Bo Peep from Cheyenne Civic League.
  • Many members gathered for an afternoon tea at the recently opened Botanical Gardens in Cheyenne. Daffodils were given to the youngest and oldest member at each table. Delightful finger sandwiches, chicken salad, and petit fours were served along with lemon-lavender tea or earl grey tea. Oh did I mention the delicious chocolate covered strawberries?
  • Clubs and officers brought baskets for a silent auction fundraiser for the state organization. Such beautiful and clever ideas for baskets.
  • Members participated in contests by bringing photographs to be judged, fiber artwork as well as short stories and poems. Such talented members!
  • GFWC supports youth art month. Art work by young artists across the state was displayed at the GFWC Wyoming annual convention held in Cheyenne April 27-28. Prizes were awarded by independent judges. The art will be taken back by the clubs and artist receptions held to honor our young artists.

Watch for information for next years Convention & hope to see even more there!!
