Mayor Max Mickelson spoke to our club today about the state of the city.
Our club presented a donation of comfort bags to the Green River Police Department. Helping us were local Girl Scout Troops who made blankets for the baskets. The bags include toys and activities that can be given to children during forensic interviews and other situations the GRPD responds to.
WCSC grants for sweetwater students attending Western Wyoming Community College were presented to two of the four recipients in this picture. Presenting is Leslie Jo Gatti and Marcia Volner and recipients are Meeka Iwen and Sophia Cozzens. Not pictured but also receiving grants are Hale Iwen and Gina Mullen. Congratulations to all. Another 61 baskets ready for the Sweetwater County Child Developmental Center to take to Sweetwater Memorial Hospital to be given out to new moms. Each basket contains a book,toy,diaper,water and information on the child developmental center, daycares in the area and a list of developmental milestones. Thank you CDC for letting us be a part of this great project.
Our club recently received the following letter from the local American Legion: Dear GFWC, I just wanted to give you a huge shout out and thank you for donating all of the goodies to our local Christmas buckets for Veterans this year. With your help we were able to give out 100 full 5 gallon home depot buckets and made Christmas a little bit brighter and merrier foe our local vets With love Markae Lester AMERICAN LEGION Archie hay post 24
Thank you Tasha Harris!The club got some wonderful info on the hospital’s radiation program from Tasha Harris at our general meeting. Did you know they can help relieve pain from osteoarthritis. Let us know if you want to join us and help the community as well and get interesting information.
Anique Clague and Jordan Nielsen from Desert View Animal Clinic accepted 2 bags of blankets from the Women’s Club of Sweetwater County on Tuesday.
Our fundraising efforts have borne fruit! The inclusive playground at Stagecoach Elementary has started to go in, thanks in part to our club’s efforts.
