Passing the Torch: The Lending Closet Legacy
Some torches you carry forever. And others you carry until the right bearer comes along to help them burn all the brighter. For example: In 1934, Women’s Club of Sweetwater County initiated the “Milk Fund”. A fund that helped undernourished children in the local school systems get milk and other nutrition through the school to assist in their learning and development. 37 years later the Milk Fund’s function was taken over by the dedicated school staff, and the club set the project aside. Club Donates Time and Funds to Seed Library
Our club contributed $200 to the library to help purchase seeds for the seed library at White Mountain Library. We also spent some time at busy hands today packaging seeds for it.

Club Hears Presentation from Sweetwater Prevention Coalition
We appreciated having the Sweetwater County Prevention Coalition which is a community-based organization focused on preventing underage drinking, substance abuse, and suicide while promoting mental health as our speakers at our March general meeting.
Donation to Sweetwater Memorial Cancer Center
Today we met with the wonderful cancer center team at Sweetwater Memorial Hospital and presented a check for $2100 to help with the travel expenses of cancer patients.
